Traveling Teams
Hello to the future varsity soccer
players of Sterling High School! Thanks for your interest in playing on the
Sterling Soccer Traveling Team this season. We look forward to working with
you and helping you develop your soccer and sportsmanship skills.
Registration is $55.00 per player. We will provide a team jersey for you to
wear at games. You are responsible for providing your shorts (black), socks
and cleats, and transportation, food and drinks for games. We will try to
organize carpooling as much as we can.
Each season we usually have had just enough 6th – 8th grade kids to field
one to two boys and girls teams each. With at least two teams, this makes
practice more fun as we’ll be able to have a “full” team scrimmage as often
as we would like. If we don’t have two teams, we will make the best out of
what we have!
Playing time for either teams depends on three
things: Attitude, showing up regularly for
practice, and skill level. Kids that are always at practice, are
positive and polite to other players and coaches will play ahead of kids
that may have better soccer skills but are habitually late or do not show up
for practice and/or have a poor attitude.
Both teams will play their games in Ft. Collins games. We will play two
games each day. You will get you the formal schedule with times and dates as
soon as they are available from the Fort Collins Soccer Club.
Details on practice times and locations will be forthcoming. A players &
parents Traveling Team meeting will be held before the start of the season.
