Info

The Sterling Soccer Association is a community organization dedicated to providing recreational and competitive activities for area youth through the sport of soccer. Our goal is for the kids to have fun, be safe, learn about the great sport of soccer, and stay physically fit and healthy. We conduct soccer programs for Pre-Kindergarten through High School youth. We play in two seasons: Spring, April to May, and Fall, September-October.

Pre-Kindergarteners must be four years old by the start of each season to be eligible to play. Pre-K through 5th Graders are organized into age and gender-appropriate teams. 6th through 8th Graders play on Traveling Teams and interleague with the Fort Collins Soccer Club; games are in Fort Collins, Loveland & Windsor. Our Traveling Teams will compete in the Platte Valley Soccer League with games in Brush, Fort Morgan, Haxtun, Holyoke, Merino, Sterling & Sidney, Nebraska.

Nearly 1,000 kids participate in our program, with players and teams coming from Akron, Briggsdale, Brush, Fleming, Haxtun, Holyoke, Iliff, Lone Star, Merino, New Raymer, Otis, Ovid, Peetz, Sedgwick, Sterling & Stoneham. Our coaches are all volunteers, and our referees are Sterling High School Boys & Girls Soccer Team players. Volunteer coaches are always welcomed and needed.  All games are played at Campbell Elementary Fields in Sterling; in gratitude to the long-standing, tremendous participation by Haxtun players, we do play one game day in Haxtun.

We follow the International Football Association Board Laws of the Game and rules of the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association, with local modifications. Shin guards are required, but shoes with cleats are not required - tennis shoes work just fine. Team photos are taken on the second and third game day of each season and available for pickup on the last, at our End of Season Celebration Tournament.
