The Sterling Soccer Association is a community organization dedicated to providing recreational and competitive activities for area youth through the sport of soccer. Our goal is for the kids to have fun, be safe, learn about the great sport of soccer, and stay physically fit and healthy. We conduct soccer programs for Pre-Kindergarten through High School youth. We play in two seasons: Spring, April to May, and Fall, September to October
Nearly 1,000 kids participate in our program, with players and teams coming from Akron, Briggsdale, Brush, Caliche, Fleming, Haxtun, Holyoke, Iliff, Julesburg, Lone Star, Merino, New Raymer, Otis, Ovid, Peetz, Sedgwick, Sterling & Stoneham. Our coaches are all volunteers, and are always welcomed and needed. All games are played at Campbell Elementary Fields in Sterling; Haxtun, Holyoke, Fleming, and Julesburg teams also play games in, Haxtun and Holyoke.
Pre-Kindergarteners must be four years old by the start of each season to be eligible to play. Pre-K through 4th Graders are organized into coed teams. Our 5th through 8th grade Coed Traveling Teams will compete in the Platte Valley Soccer League with games in, Fort Morgan, Haxtun, Holyoke, Sterling & Sidney, Nebraska.
We follow the International Football Association Board Laws of the Game and rules of the Colorado State Youth Soccer Association, with local modifications. Shin guards are required, but shoes with cleats are not required - tennis shoes work just fine. Team photos are taken each season.
